Human Equations

Welcome to part three of my phase of experimenting with different drawing styles. There's a lot new about this one that I hadn't done before, and first and foremost is that the line art was drawn entirely with the pen tool. Rather than just draw a hard copy and scan it in (which is much less time consuming, I may add) I finally sat down and taught myself how to use the pen tool. The only things I don't really like shapewise is the overall crookedness of the drawing. The next thing I worked on was having as few bulky black line as possible. That required a lot of lasso tooling xD I think the two tools I used most through the entire this was the polygon lasso tool and the expand selection tool. My trackpad is textured, so my middle finger (my drawing finger) is tingling like crazy.

Between this--which I'm going to call "clean" style-- the sketchy looking style, and the grunge style, I like this one the best, but I REALLY need work. The only part of this I'm really pleased with is Roxas. I mean, he looks like fucking Beyonce over there, even if his hands are a little funky.

I'm still trying to figure out the excuse that Axel could have for having face tattoos, since he's such a goody goody nerd. I don't THINK she mentioned them, but I couldn't just draw him without them. What would have been totally cool is if it had been two chaps, and the first one would have been the same, his name just being Lea. And then the second one after his transition into Roxas-worldly badass type of stuff, in which he gets his tattoos done, Roxas finally decides to quit calling him Cherry and start calling him Axel.

This description was way longer than it should have been ^^' sorry about my creative orgasm. I didn't mean it.
